Denise has held the position of Manager, Pathways and Processes Team, Clinical Practice Improvement Centre, Queensland Health, since 2004.

Her previous roles within Queensland Health were Quality Co-ordinator and Program Manager of the Southern Zone Management Unit; Quality Manager and Manager, Total Quality Management and Infection Control and Charge Nurse of the General Medical Ward at Logan Hospital of the Logan-Beaudesert Health Service District.
