Dr Robert Griffin MBBS MRACMA FAAQHC Editorial Committee Member NSW/ACT Network Representative
Dr Griffin held the position of Director of Medical Services at Westmead Hospital from 1978 until 1989. Following this position, Dr Griffin was the Area Medical Superintendent of the North Coast Area Health Service of NSW. He then moved to Canberra where he was first appointed to the Commonwealth Department of Health as the Director of Policy and Marketing, Australian Government Health Service. In 1996 he took up the appointment as Director of Medical Services at the Calvary Health Care ACT, a role that included a major city metropolitan publich hospital, and a private hospital in the ACT as well as the ACT Hospice. He held this post until June 2005. He has had extensive experience in teaching hospitals, regional hospitals and rural hospitals. Having retired from full time service in 2005, Dr Griffin completed a term of office as a member of the ACT Medical Board, acted in the position of the Deputy Chief Health Officer for the ACT, acting Senior Medical Advisor The Canberra Hospital, undertakes health services consulting, and is a part time Medical Surveyor and Co-ordinator for the ACHS.
